Veggie Tales
If you like to talk to tomatoes, if a squash can make you smile. If you like to waltz with potatoes, up and down the produce aisle....Have we got a devotional for you!
Veggie Tales has released two brand new devotionals, one for boys and one for girls. I chose to review the one for girls due to my boys being older and have mostly outgrown Veggie Tales. Each devotional book contains 365 daily devotions to help young readers get in the habit of spending quiet time with God and also working on their character.
Each page is fully colored and features a member of the Veggie Tale team at the bottom. My daughter loved telling me all about who each character was and why she liked him or her. On each page is a a thought of the day that goes along with the scripture and the short devotional passage. It gives the child, and the parents, something to think about through the day.
For example, the thought for today was when you look in the mirror praise God for what you see because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. I love that it speaks truth to kids on a level in which they understand. My daughter absolutely LOVES her Veggie Tales devotional and beggs to do "'votions" as she calls it.
To be honest, I get just as much out of them as she does. As we go through the devotions I'm reminded of the promises and the goodness of God. I'm reminded that it's our job as parents to teach them the way they should go and what better way than with a devotional that speaks to their hearts and sparks their interest.
